The coverage for osteopathy in Switzerland depends on your insurance as well as your insurance model. Most supplementary insurances for complementary and alternative medicine cover between 70 and 90 percent of the costs for your osteopathic treatment.
Unfortunately, the mandatory basic insurance does not cover osteopathic treatments.
Accident insurances generally do not cover costs related to osteopathic treatments. However, if you have a medical prescription for osteopathy, this can be beneficial and you might be able to receive partial coverage.
We recommend clarifying the exact conditions with your supplementary, health, or accident insurance directly before your first appointment. That way, you'll know from the beginning which costs are covered and whether you need a medical prescription.
At BodyLab in Zurich Altstetten, we are happy to personally advise you on all questions regarding osteopathy and coverage.
